Spring 2009 Activities
From Tina, a member of our pediatric nurse faculty:
The Teddy Bear Rally Bear Care Clinic was staffed by 2 faculty, 21 pediatric students and 3 OB students who wanted to volunteer even though they don’t get clinical credit. We distributed 1,000 toothbrushes and provided dental health education to children and their parents. The Zoo admitted 7,900 people during the time we were there. Thanks to Karen from admissions for purchasing the toothbrushes; they were a hit.
